Personal Injury Claims - Northamptonshire
June 7th, 2007Northamptonshire County Council reported that they have paid out nearly £700,000 in compensation over the last four years to 198 people who have fallen over. Many of the claimants have tripped over kerbs and paving stones. The report also noted that there have also been 541 failed compensation claims during the same period.

The county council has paid out £693,756.42 in compensation to people since October 1 2003 – and is expecting to pay out more.
The figures are based on personal injury claims and do not include claims for vehicle damage, pothole claims and tree root damage.
They are based on a claim year, which runs from the beginning of October to the end of September.
Northamptonshire County Council said: “We are committed to maintaining the quality of the county’s roads and we carry out regular inspections to see what maintenance work needs to be carried out. Repairs needed for safety reasons are our immediate priority and will always go straight to the top of the list, otherwise maintenance programmes are drawn up on the basis of wear and tear.”
